A new dog park for Kershaw County

In November 2021, the Mason Family Bark Park opened in Lugoff. The park, located off Highway One at 11 E. Ford Lane, next to Lugoff Ford, was made possible by the Mason family.

Kershaw County Council Member Ben Connell said the Mason family donated the 3 acres to the county, so citizens carry no tax dollars or capital costs for the park. Connell said the project took almost two years to complete because of supply chain delays.

On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially celebrated the opening, with representatives of the Mason family, the KC Humane Society, the PLAY Foundation and Kershaw County on hand. A public grand opening was set for Saturday, November 20, 2021.
