About Mason Automotive Group

A people business since 1979

Mason Automotive Group is a family owned, multi-franchise automotive organization headquartered in the Midlands of South Carolina, with dealerships in South Carolina and North Carolina.

Our Story

The Mason family automotive story

The Mason family’s automotive roots date to 1979, when Mark Mason Sr. began his career in the automobile business. After decades of experience in automotive retail, he became a dealership owner in 2008. His leadership philosophy focuses on the people behind the business, not simply the number of vehicles sold.

What began with a single dealership has grown into Mason Automotive Group, a family owned, multi-franchise automotive organization. Today the group represents Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Volkswagen, along with Midlands Powersports and Mighty Wash Auto Spa.

Through the group’s growth, the Mason family has stayed focused on creating good places to work, treating customers well, and giving back to the communities that support its dealerships.

Take care of employees. Take care of customers. Invest in the community. The principle behind Mason Automotive Group

Our Culture

Faith, family and health first

Employees are encouraged to put faith, family and health first while receiving the training and opportunities to build meaningful careers.

He believes that when a dealership takes care of its employees, those employees can better care for customers. That philosophy helped shape the next generation of the Mason family business.

“It’s All about the People”

Toyota Today, The Magazine for Toyota Dealerships · July/August 2015 · Cover story: “Mark Mason Jr. of Lugoff Toyota”

Toyota Today put Lugoff Toyota on its cover with a feature on the dealership’s philosophy: take care of your employees and they’ll take care of your customers, and the rest will take care of itself. The story highlighted the free Fall Festival, Lighthouse for Life, United Way, Christmas wish lists for children, Oliver Gospel Mission, support for Kershaw County deputies, and a workplace built around faith, family and health.
